BORN OFF THE WALL

I had been wanting to take some shots of my lil papa frita, Salvador Cid IV. So when it was 108 degrees outside last night, I decided to stay in the air conditioning and see what kind of shots we could come up with in our lil apartment. I work for VANS and I have always wanted to do a VANS inspired shoot with my lil baby but VANS doesn't make infant clothing. So, I took matters into my own hands and hand drew a VANS logo onto one of SCIV's onesies. We then grabbed some alphabet blocks, our VANS blanket, and his poppy, and made newborn photographic magic. Time was not on our side unfortunately, because we didn't want him breathing in the permanent marker fumes for too long and he was starting to get antsy. At first, he was the perfect lil model that he is, and took some awesome shots. After the first set up, he was over it already though. We wanted to do maybe 2 more looks but that was definitely not happening. I will be sending these into the corporate office and see if I can convince them to start producing infant/toddler clothing, at least for the website.

BLACK x YELLOW

I had the chance to go help open a new VANS store at the Ross Park Mall in Pittsburgh, PA last week. We literally worked almost every minute we were there, so we ended up only getting to see the city one afternoon the whole week we were there. Before that though, our connecting flight en route to Pitt got delayed overnight. So we ended up "stranded" in Minneapolis, MN. Lucky for us, our hotel was not even a block away from the Mall Of America. None of us had ever been there before so we were all super stoked to see what it was all about. Even though, we got there around 730pm and the mall closed at 9pm, we ate at a fancy restaurant, saw the "lackluster" VANS store(small store, POOR customer service, DISAPPOINTED), then rode all the cool rides before it closed.

Once we finally got to explore Pittsburgh a little bit, the weather was EXTREMELY muggy and HOT. In turn, my team thought the city sucked and was not a place for them, but I thought it was an awesome city with a lot of history. We saw Heinz Field, PNC Park, and a bunch of bridges and fountains. I definitely want to go back. Here's some shots I got to take when I was there though, check em out!!
